Documentary involving Nielson nominated for Emmy

The documentary in which Erik Nielson, professor and chair of liberal arts, served as both a consulting producer and expert on the use of rap lyrics in criminal trials, has been nominated for an Emmy award as an Outstanding Arts and Culture Documentary.

The film, As We Speak: The Future of Free Expression, was featured in UR Magazine, recognizing alum Sam Widdoes, ’08, who produced the film and invited Nielson to participate in the project.
