Vázquez presented on connecting humanities, Career Services, and community partners

Karina Vázquez, senior teaching faculty of Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies, presented "Bridging Humanities, Professions and Communities" at the University of Georgia. The talk highlighted course design strategies that connect the humanities with Career Services and community partners through experiential learning, interdisciplinary projects, and student reflections on professional growth and social agency.

The lectured focused on strategias to design courses that transcend classroom activities by enriching content-based discussions with experiential learning opportunities and customizable interdisciplinary investigations to help students articulate and explore their professional aspirations. Vázquez shared the successful collaboration of University of Richmond Career Services and humanities faculty in the course LAIS 497 Bodies at Work: Gender, Work & Society.
