University Forum improvement project underway
May 18, 2026
A project at the University Forum is underway and expected to be completed ahead of the fall 2026 semester. Construction activity will continue throughout the summer, and community members are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area. Access through the Forum will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
The project will create a new accessible walking path connecting Westhampton Lake and the upper Forum improving navigation and accessibility for all users. Additional work includes updates to the upper Forum, drainage improvements, expanded tree wells to support healthier tree growth, refreshed landscaping, and new shaded seating opportunities.
As part of the project, several overcrowded trees are being removed to improve long-term canopy health and create better growing conditions for the remaining trees. As part of the University's ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the campus landscape, trees will be planted elsewhere on campus to replace the ones being removed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to University Facilities.
