Shields & Ready organized case study for A&S NEXT

Tom Shields, professor of education and leadership studies, and Emmy Ready, visiting lecturer of Latin American, Latino & Iberian Studies, organized a case study titled “Multilingual Student Success in Public Schools” for the A&S NEXT program in January.

As part of the focus on immigration, Shields and Ready led a group to visit the Sacred Heart Center, where Lyons Sanchezconcha, GC’23, incoming Executive Director of the Center, and Tanya Gonzales, outgoing Executive Director, welcomed the group and spoke about the mission of the Center and the work that it performs in the Latinx community in metro Richmond.
