University of Richmond Employees Donate Winter Weather Essentials

On January 15, Human Resources welcomed 347 attendees at WintUR Chill, an annual employee appreciation event. Even with a last-minute change of plans, faculty and staff mixed and mingled over snacks at the Jepson Alumni Center.


Angeline Gardner, Events Coordinator for Human Resources, shared, “Thanks to the outstanding support of Dining Services, Catering, and Events and Support Services, the event seamlessly pivoted from December to January when weather required a schedule shift. Their flexibility and teamwork ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone who attended.”


While the event allowed faculty and staff to connect with colleagues, WintUR Chill also gave employees the opportunity to make a lasting impact beyond campus. University employees showed incredible generosity by donating new and gently used items to CARITAS, a local non-profit that connects those in need with resources and community. In total, more than 120 coats were collected, along with countless gloves, hats, and socks. These donations will be distributed across shelters and partner organizations to support individuals and families in need.


Human Resources wants to thank attendees for their continued engagement and support. Gardner shared, “We’re grateful for this community’s willingness to show up, adapt, and give back — and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.”
