Calling all campus writers: Resources to support your work

Writing can take many forms across the University — from scholarly articles and book proposals to grant applications, community-engaged research, and pieces written for public audiences. Whatever you are working on, offices across campus offer resources and expertise to help.

The Writing and Research Toolkit brings many of these resources together in one convenient location, making it easier to find the right support at the right stage of your work.

The toolkit connects writers with:

• Writing retreats, accountability groups, workshops, individual consultations, and coaching through the Faculty Hub
• Research tools, librarian expertise, open-access publishing information, and copyright guidance from University Libraries
• Resources, connections, and funding opportunities for community-engaged research and public scholarship through the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement
• Guidance from University Communications on writing for public audiences, engaging with the media, and contributing to The Conversation
• Support from the Office of Foundation, Corporate, and Government Relations for identifying funding opportunities and developing, submitting, and managing grant proposals

Additional resources include writing tip sheets and videos, publishing and authors’ rights guidance, citation-management tools, and access to programs offered through the University’s institutional membership in the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity.

Together, these campus partners offer support across the writing and research process—from finding the time and structure to get started to publishing your work and sharing it with wider audiences.
